Our Mission

To research, restore, publish and teach the classical liberal arts curriculum.

claaradio_small2Modern radio programs are not designed to support the “quiet and peaceable life” that Our Lord taught us.  Rather, they are driven by advertising and controversial news commentary that leaves listeners confused and distracted from the work of God, which is our only source of peace and wisdom.

What ought our minds to be like if we are living rightly?  St. Paul told us the same thing in two different places:

“Be ye filled with the Holy Spirit,  speaking to yourselves in psalms, and hymns, and spiritual canticles, singing and making melody in your hearts to the Lord; giving thanks always for all things, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to God and the Father.” (Ephesians 5:18-20)

“And let the peace of Christ rejoice in your hearts, wherein also you are called in one body: and be ye thankful.  Let the word of Christ dwell in you abundantly, in all wisdom: teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual canticles, singing in grace in your hearts to God.” (Colossians 3:15-16)

CLAA Radio is offered to help you put that command into practice–and not only you, but all the members of your household.  We will be providing Christian families with access to the most beautiful hymns of the Church, sung by the world’s best choirs, bringing families into the Benedictine monasteries of France to hear the chanting of the Divine Office, providing hours and hours of readings that include the Bible, devotional classics, Aesop’s Fables, English poetry, classical literature, the Church Fathers, and much more.

Note:  CLAA Radio is already active.  We will be adding programs and content steadily over the coming months.  We intend for CLAA Radio to become an important resource for all the excellent Christian families studying the classical liberal arts with us.

The Divine Office

We are in the process of bringing the common hours of the Divine Office to listeners daily from the Abbaye du Barroux in France.  Normally the Benedictines make all of their daily offices available except for Matins and Terce.  Our hourly programming is ordered around the canonical hours of the Divine Office, meaning that listening to our program throughout the day can help bring the order of the monastery into your home or office.

Slow to Speak, Quick to Listen

Social etiquette teaches us that conversation ought to stay away from religion and politics–and we agree.  Idle wrangling about matters that we know and will do nothing about only stirs up anger and confusion.  We will NEVER broadcast talk radio programs that discuss political controversies or that question the teachings or actions of the hierarchy of the Catholic Church.  Our programming will be inspiring, positive and beautiful, and if there’s any talking heard, it will come from the writings of the popes, saints or famous authors–not us.

CLAA Radio Sponsors

Make a gift that will benefit thousands of Christian families around the world.  You can help us to bring more and more Christian prayer, music and teaching to more and more listeners by helping us pay the costs of doing so.   For a small monthly contribution, you can help us add to our radio content and increase the number of listeners able to listen to our programs freely.  This is a simple, but real, way of helping other families to fulfill St. Paul’s exhortations above.  CLAA Radio is produced by volunteer staff and 100% of every sponsorship provides for improved programming.

To apply for a CLAA Radio Sponsorship, please submit the form below.  No payment is due at this time, and all applications are subject to approval.  Thank you.
